Porto Antico Genova This is one of the most ancient of Italian ports; it goes back to the 5th century before A.D. The second name of Porto Antico is Mandraccio. Port becomes a central point of the country in 500 (so-called century of Genova); it was a century of development of commerce and navigation. In 1992 it has been a reconstruction of the port. The new (reconstructed) one specializes on «civil» navigation, not commercial as before. And it offers great conditions for yachting. Designer Renzo Piano has created a unit complex with developed infrastructure. Here one can find a huge territory for realization of different exhibitions, commercial centers, cinemas, restaurants and so on. The port occupies more than 20 km.
