Marmaris is a small nice city in Turkey, it borders with both Mediterranean and Aegean Seas. It is situated in a picturesque bay, surrounded by mountains and piny wood. Population is over 35000, and in high season it arrives at half million, because of the «tourist invasion». Before the 70-s this city was known only among Turkish. It was a small fishermen village with population 8000. In 80-s, the epoch of blooming of tourism in Turkey, this city has «opened» Englishmen. Then it has become known among Germans. Russians go on holiday in Marmaris from 1996. So, this city has become a true tourist resort, it receives annually several millions of tourists. But in spite of all this — the old center of city still keeps the atmosphere of a small village…There is a main street, right among the sea-front, where one can find a lot of restaurants, cafes, shops, hotels and banks.

Worth of visiting the marvelous castle Ottoman Suleyman, built in 1522 for defense of knights of St. Jones from invasion of knights from Rhodes. The first berthing is situated on the south side of Marmaris, in 2 miles from the city.

LORYMA

This is an ancient citadel, situated on the coast of Serce, it defenses the entrance in the bay.
